I'll also be taking that big green statue back.
All right, that's it, the cat's been away for too long and the mice are binge drinking, breakdancing, LARPing, et cetera, so I'm coming back over there to straighten you all out. (Actually, I have a wedding to attend and a housewarming party and some work to do.) Much like Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall, I'm coming to America! I'll be in the United Snakes from June 19th to all the way 'til July 14th. I'll be staying in New Jersey and Philadelphia with assorted good friends, and also spending a week at the shore. Coincidentally, there is a decent chance my roommate Alexis will be playing a few gigs in New York with the Dead Sexy Inc around the same time, so some of you might get to meet him in NYC or Philly or Wildwood. I expect to be super busy with work and social engagements throughout my stay in any case; my calendar is already quickly filling up. I'll try to do an everyone's-invited thing at Tattooed Mom's or some other bar in Philly like the last few times I was in town; that's worked out nicely so far. More details on all of this as things come together. See you soon-ish, America!

I'll be bringing an empty suitcase to fill with American hairspray.

I'm sure you're booked solid by now, but that does happen to coincide with my play Witch Prison, which I think would appeal to you aesthetically. Since it looks like you'll be missing Bastille Day, you could do worse than to spend the Fourth in New York.

If you can make it to Philly that would be sweet, Wildwood would be even better, and I also will most likely be headed up to NYC at some point, especially if Alexis is playing a gig all up in there.

God, do you know I didn't even catch the "green statue" reference? My first impression was, no joke, some Mayan fetish carved in jade. Which is impossible. I thought maybe it was something you'd given to someone and wanted back. THEN I thought maybe it was some Philly reference, like a big green statue of Frank Rizzo or maybe the William Penn statue was going green with corrosion. And THEN I figured it out.

I go a long way towards being an idiot.

Well, even whilst writing the gag I realized it made no sense because I'm not even a tiny bit French, so "taking it back" doesn't really work. However, I DO think removal of the Statue would be a good punishment for Americans LARPing.

I certainly will! I hope everybody who reads my blog realizes that I'm not in the band, right? But they put on a really fun show and I hope I can get a few extra people to go see them. I will almost definitely be there if they play. Say, you live in Philly or thereabouts, right? There's an off chance they'll set up some gigs there too. I'll keep everybody posted...
