Adam and the Ants — Stand and Deliver
This video may be the best thing that happens to you today, even if you're already having the best day of your life.

Yeah!! I have file somewhere on my another harddrive which I started to make a series of posts about my 10 favourite music videos, and Stand and Deliver is certainly in it! And as for music it is just real madness with one of the greatest percussion tracks (I beatbox it pretty often ever since I first watched the video and heard the song nearly 5 years ago). [Literally] dancing on the table is what it is!

I'm simultaneously glad and mournful that I didn't have MTV as a teen. I would have been even more insufferable than I already was.

The New Romantics, bringing you leather pants and lace ruffs for twenty years!

I didn't have MTV either and I imagine you're right, about both of us as teenagers. Among other things, it would've made me wonder why "Dandy Highwayman" wasn't represented at Career Day.

Oh what a crush I had on that man when I was 15 years old...

This was about the last song of his that I could comfortably listen to. I love the first 2 albums but Prince Charming really started to make me feel icky.

*Mew* - definitely one of the top things for my day, so far.

That I remain the only person on livejournal to list, "I'm the dandy highwayman!" as an interest on my profile is both a matter of personal pride and a tragedy. Adam Ant is absolute perfection.

Where on earth did he get that bone structure? He's entirely too perfect; it's really and truly unsettling.

This is one of my favorite songs of all time. It is also my ringtone, an annoying polyhonic, barely recognizable version that everyone but me hates. Also, Abe Scott did a legendary karaoke version of this that is only rivaled by the time he stripped half naked and inadvertently physically assaulted a bunch of innocent bystanders during a rousing rendition of "Lust For Life", which I believe was captured on video and needs to find it's ay to youtube.

...okay, since my machine plays it very choppily, please tell me about the what-looks-like four black US GIs who are on the gallows maybe freeing them...? In my memory, it was some of the hot chicks who didn't want to see the resources go to waste...

Yeah, you're mostly right; weirdly it looks like four US soldiers (which may be four women, or maybe some are women and some are men; hard to tell with the small size/bad quality) but they're actually guarding the hanging, not helping to free Adam Ant. It's one of the other Ants (a blond guy) who hops up on the gallows and cuts the noose, and then the whole band is up there and they all jump down together while the soldiers just stand there.
