I've been looking so long at these pictures of me
A couple pictures taken by my friend Maura a few weeks back:

Alexis and me at this insane Russian restaurant in my neighborhood...

... And me in Père Lachaise Cemetery, trying my damnedest to out-rockstar Jim Morrison and out-dandy Oscar Wilde. Later on I also tried to outdrink both of them, and Edith Piaf, too. I'd say I failed pretty miserably, but another way to look at is: which of us are buried in Père Lachaise and which of us are sitting here updating our LiveJournals? Hmm?

Aw man, I was hoping it would be the real Edith Piaf, and she was just constantly filling out online quizzes about "Which French singer are you?"

Man, do you think superheroes and villains ever dress up as each other for Halloween, like, just to clown each other? That would be awesome.

Man, I hate to nerd all over this, but in the old Sixties' comics, whenever super-heroes' civilian identities were invited to a party, they'd often go dressed as other super-heroes, and it weirds me out that Bruce Wayne even OWNS an Aquaman costume, or that Oliver Queen was all dressing up like Superman. Because I expect they get drunk and do horrible impressions of their friends, all "I'm Aquaman, I like teh fish, FARRRRRRRRT," etc ...

Haha, i'm sure the purple one would've looked just as awesome. Did you get those in France or the States?

I got it in Paris at a store called Delaveine, one of my favorite stores for buying cheap stylish trash that falls apart in a month; one of the buttons fell off the first time I wore it. I only bought the green one, and now the purple is gone, unfortunately.

That's awesome. Man, I need to find some cool stores like that in NYC (with ladies wear of course) hehe. I'm sure they're around...they HAVE to be. I need to explore my neighborhood more.

Thanks! I had them for about a week and then I lost one, and I went back to the store and they're all sold out. So that's that.

Gloves look great, but the shoes? Man, you look like you're playing dress-up in them. They look huge.

Maybe that's a faux pas, though. Maybe you have giant Frankenstein feet. Maybe I'm being incredibly insensitive about a part of your body that you've been sensitive about since high school. Maybe in trying to be funny, I actually wounded you. Deeply.

I'm wearing creepers with two-inch soles here; most of my shoes are platforms or heels, and I do try to buy the biggest chunkiest shoes I can find, so no offense taken! The four-inch platform boots I used to have, now those were Frankenstein shoes...

Ha, whoa, I admire a lot of his fashion risks but I don't think I could even try to pull off androgynous like that. I'm definitely jealous of those guys who can, but I've got this caveman mug, so I've gotta settle for working the sexyugly Nick Cave thing, which suits me fine.

I already lost one skeleton glove and can't find a replacement pair anywhere, so now I gotta buy a plain black pair and do the asymmetrical thing, which, now that I think of it, holy shit, that might be even cooler...

Hahah, perhaps!

I hate losing cool things. I got these gorgeous creme colored cashmere and leather gloves from my Crazy Aunt Helen's house when she died (they were still in their original 1950's packaging... the woman was a packrat) and between all the moving I've done in the past four years I only have one. I can never get its mate back. I kept the other one and it sits there... taunting me.
