Sacré Coeur
Good heavens, the view from my bedroom window is ridiculous. It's been cool and rainy and gray and cloudy since I arrived in Paris last week, and I've been waiting desperately for a little bit of sun so I could take a couple pictures to show you LiveJournalists. It doesn't help that living way up on the hill basically means I live in the clouds. But the sky finally just cleared up a little a few minutes ago, so here you go...





(You can click 'em for bigger versions if you want.) I've got beautiful Montmartre out my back window and sleazy Pigalle out the living room balcony on the other side of the apartment. I'll try to take some pictures of that some night soon.

That is ridiculous! I am so jealous! Are those towers? Are those minarets? Let me tell you about my second-floor apartment, from which you can see a garbage dump, a parking garage, and precious little else.

Have I commented on any of your entries before now? I can't remember! Anyway, hey, nice view.

That's la Basilique du Sacré Coeur, which a lot of us Americans know of as the church from the end of Amelie. I used to live right down the hill on the right side of it, and now I basically live a few blocks down in front of it. I just moved back to Paris last week, but I took a couple really neat pictures of Sacre Coeur last time I lived here, down at the end of this post...

Thanks, it means a lot to me too! I take spelling pretty seriously. I don't always bother with the accents though, because I have no idea how to do them with an American keyboard (so I usually just Google and copy and paste).
